Come on ring those bells...

I am officially in the holiday spirit! This merits much celebration because I have not been in the holiday spirit for several years. I have been lame wife and not even put a tree for at least the past 3 years. Mostly it's because we're not at our own house for the holidays. We're always travelling to Asheville to spend time with our families so I haven't seen a reason in spending so much time decorating just to look at it for a couple weeks and then take it down and not even really get to put gifts under the tree because who actually wraps their presents early enough to do that when they're travelling? This year, I will! This year there will be a tree put up, lights hung*, decorations scattered and presents wrapped before travelling because I can. I attribute it to the small amount of snow (SNOW!) we got here last week because it's the first time in 5 years I've lived in a place that it has snowed**.

Now, if I could just convince Mother Nature to turn down the thermostat a little I would be a little more comfortable in my sweaters.

*We did hang icecicle lights last year and it was beautiful.
**Snow is a little unusual for us here on the coast of SC, and today? It's 70 .

Do the Houston thing! I've learned that if you want to have the cozy, winter feeling in the house all you have to do is: light the fireplace, put on a sweater, make some cocoa, and turn on the A/C. Ta da! Instant winter atmosphere!
